Block
of the Month 20069-9-9
9 Patch - 9 Months - 9 Blocks
designed by Susan Druding for Equilters.com & QFaD
I thought about making this quilt a Mystery Quilt, but since it is a queen size and an investment in fabric I thought it would be better as a BOM project. Also, if you want the colors to harmonize throughout the quilt, you need to do a little planning. So, it seemed a good idea to show some possible sample quilt tops. I also give a black and white line drawing of the quilt so you can print it out and experiment with some colored pencils.
One color theme that holds through all these samples is that the bright fabric triangle pieces are bright in all the tops (in the top #1 these are a bright fuchsia hot pink, in #2 they are a bright red, in #3 the fabrics are all white, gray and black with the bright triangles in red, in #4 batik fabrics the bright fabric is teal green and in the final #5 they are a pink patterned fabric.
The finished size of the quilt with a 3" border would be 90" x 102". The blocks are 12" blocks.
Isolated Fabrics in the 12 areas are shown here in diagrams
