Grandma Hattie's Knick Knack Shelf Blocks
part 2 of series
Blocks
3 and 4 in the series:
These paper foundation pieced blocks for your knick knack shelves are a baby shoe (which would be fun done in a "bronze look") which you can dress up with buttons or shoe ties and a flower pot in which to grow an appliqué of flowers or maybe a cactus. I include one simple appliqué flower pattern. Finished sewn height of these blocks is meant to be 8 inches.
Block 3 - a Baby Bootie in Bronze

This baby shoe would be fun done in metallic lame fabric to look like a bronzed baby shoe. The "buttons" can be sewn on after finishing the block to embellish it. Or, perhaps add shoe laces?
Knick Knack block 4 - a Flower Pot: A flower pot block which can have flowers or plants or a floral fabric used to fill it with blooms. A cactus applique would be fun, too. Finding a large floral print could be an easy way to add flowers. Or, make Yo-Yo flowers? As with the little jar in Part One I've set this to one side for more interesting spacing of the block.

A possible applique flower is shown below
(pattern is
provided here) adding 2-3 could fill the pot:

Below are miniature versions of the above in paper pieced
blocks
- a link below each will lead you to the full sized blocks for printing
