A Telephone to Appliqué

Here's an old-fashioned dial telephone block to use in a quilt or wall hanging. Sometimes I see a clip art image which just asks to be converted to applique and this phone block is one of those. It's fun way to use up odd bits of bright fabrics.

Your phone can be any size (6-9" or so) - on the following page is an image of how to layout the pieces from the templates and some explanation. There are 3 pages of templates to print out to make the telephone.

Print the templates (parts 1, 2 and 3) and enlarge them by the same amount on a copy machine.

Layout information page is here.

Template set One is here with links to parts 2 and 3.

A possible layout for a quilt top is here.

If you make one of these blocks, send me a photo or a scan to show off what fabrics you used.
