FLOWER PHOTOS

Use real flower photos
for your applique or
fabric printing.

Ever since I made a successful applique pattern from a photo of an azalea bloom (see the free pattern here to see it) I've meant to collect more flower photos to use for making patterns. Flower photos also could be useful to make transfer prints or direct print images onto fabric.

I took a summer walk around my neighborhood with my digital camera. Berkeley is blessed with a wonderful climate and many residents who love flowers so in a few hours I collected some wonderful photos with my Nikon Coolpix 990 digital camera. I've chosen flowers that I could photo face forward and which would yield outlines of petals nicely. If the background was distracting I have edited the photos to emphasis the single blossom clearly.

So a pansy that had
 other petals nearby (at left)
was edited into a single
floating blossom at the right.

You are all welcome to use these photos to make patterns, fabric prints or transfer prints. I do ask that the images not be used for illustrating web pages or in other ways without permission. I spent a lot of time tuning up the photos and I'd like to restrict them for the use intended and for my own pages here.
